It is important to note that a measured entity will not score any points on a scorecard if they have not submitted their annual workplace skills plan and annual training report.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT: ANNUAL WORKPLACE SKILLS PLAN AND ANNUAL TRAINING REPORT

Submissions for the submission of your workplace skills plan (WSP) and annual training report (ATR) closes on 30 April 2014

Failing to submit could result in the following;

  • No BEE points will be awarded without proof of submission of WSP & ATR
  • You will not qualify for the mandatory rebates from your SETA

Skills Development is one of the most critical elements of B-BBEE as it addresses the skills shortage in the country. In the revised codes of good practice it has been identified as a priority element and non-compliance with sub-minimum targets will result in a measured entity dropping one level on the scorecard

It is important to note that a measured entity will not score any points on a scorecard if they have not submitted their annual workplace skills plan and annual training report. This makes compliance with Skills Development Act even more critical.

Companies for submit WSP and ATR are to recover up to 69.5% of Skills Development Levies paid during the past year. The funds/Grants are allocated as following

  1. Mandatory Grant – 20%
  2. Discretional Grant – 49.5
