On Friday 10 October 2014, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) published the Revised Scorecard for Qualifying Small Enterprises in terms of Government Gazette 39076, Notice Number 876, as a follow up to the Revised Generic Codes of Good Practice published in October 2013. Also included in this government gazette is (among other things) the Revised Scorecard for Specialised Enterprises.

Join Transcend Corporate Advisors, South Africa’s largest B-BBEE consulting and advisory services firm and widely regarded as thought leaders in the field of transformation, at anyone of the sessions below as we unpack the impact to the way business with an annual turnover of less than R50 million will do business as they seek to comply with the proposed amendments to the Revised Scorecard for Qualifying Small Enterprises.

Particular attention will be given to:

  1. Compliance with Ownership as a compulsory priority pillar
  2. How to address Supplier Development in a meaningful and sustainable way
  3. Thoughts and high-level strategy as to how to transition from only having to consider compliance with some of the pillars of the scorecard to having to comply with all the pillars of the scorecard, and how to mitigate a drop in B-BBEE compliance levels.

These QSE Codes represent a step change in requirement for QSEs.

QSEs will have to work hard at their compliance if they are going to show good B-BBEE credentials.
